Another Scarbinsky man crush in NCAA trouble:

Seems they're serious about punishing those Bruce Pearl recruiting violations.

Wow. Cliff Ellis....cheating? After his squeaky clean runs at USA, Clemson, and The Barn, who could have seen that coming? (Paging Dr. Transcript).

Cousin Cliff make Barbee look like a girl scout. He oozes scum from every pore.

They'll lose scholarships and get a postseason ban, while Jim Calhoun gets a 3 game suspension.

RE: NBR: Trouble for Cousin Cliff
Wasn't it Ellis who complained about Auburn's BOT interference with the Auburn basketball program that got Auburn in trouble with SACS and put on probation by that group? Shortly thereafter he was fired which may indicate why so few in a position to do so want to complain about ANY BOT activities in Alabama at either BCS school.

What it illustrates is that the farther your school is down the NCAA's "pecking order", the more risks you must take to get players who might make an impact in your league. Some can remember when Watson Brown had to take risks on about 6 or 7 JUCO transfers, NONE of whom made it onto campus for the following fall season. Even the biggest BCS programs make an occasional error in judgement on a player (one 5* guy wound up getting caught selling drugs in a school parking lot as I recall), but they don't have to take the wild risks of a school at CCU's level on as many players. Of course, it is also possible that Ellis is just a poor judge of character and has run out of chances.

Silly Cliff. He thought he could cheat at Coastal Carolina like he could at Clemson and Auburn. How naive can you be.

MB...you left out his cheating at USA. If he hadn't started cheating at South AL, he would have never gotten a chance to cheat at the other schools.

So now Auburn will get some Bruce Pearl recruiting violations of their own!
