Housing prices continue slide
Despite the recovery!

http://realestate.msn.com/blogs/listedbl...>1=35006

Quote:Home prices have continued to fall throughout most of the United States, with prices hitting their lowest point since the housing bust in 11 major cities.

The only two of the 20 cities to show an increase in prices from 2009 to 2010 were San Diego (1.7%) and Washington, D.C. (4.1%).

Grrr. Wanted to keep my townhome in NoVA.

RE: Housing prices continue slide
Charlotte NC just did a major reassessment of property values to increase property tax revenues. The city-county revenue department said it was necessary since the last reassessement was in 2003. On average property values went up... what a surprise. It would have be more reasonable if the city-county tax office had assessed at fair market values and raised taxes instead of inflating home values to increase revenues. More than one person has said, if there is even one buyer willing to pay the assessed value, they would sell immediately.
