Maybe Americans aren't so bad after all.

Quote:Near the start of his Nov. 4, 2003, program on CNN, Lou Dobbs said, “One-third of the inmates now serving time in federal prisons come from some other country — one-third.” Later, he offered more details: “Coming up, we’re going to take a further look at the impact of illegal aliens. And it is an expensive proposition, particularly in our nation’s prisons. Illegal aliens, those citizens — noncitizens taking up a third of the cells in our federal penitentiaries.”

Given that the overwhelming majority are coming here seeking a better life ... why not turn these people into tax paying citizens? Because for some of them, prison is a step up. Three meals a day ... shelter ... TV ... Radio ...

Yeah, we should probably lock up some innocent white people in the name of equality.

Half of Wall Street should be in jail.

For what crime?

Rolling Stone has a great article online this month tittled "why isnt Wall Street in jail" check it out

That is what you get when you fill the statues up with laws that involve victimless crimes..especially consumption of "illegal" substances. If it does not involve theft, fraud, property damage or violence...it is none of my business what an adult does with their life. No victim...No crime. This is not complicated.

The futile drug war is a self-sustaining machine that is the financial base of law enforcement. It provides them the funds to grow and become ever more intrusive into our lives. Without it...they would be forced to actually go out and attack REAL crime.03-banghead

We had drug addicts that rob and stab people in prison. Seriously, it's a myth to say that first-time drug users are going to prison. Even first-time crack sellers probably aren't going to prison and they're drug-dealers. I do think America has more people in prisons than those countries because China, Russia, etc, probably just take you out back and shoot you, rather than give you rights and imprison you.

Big difference between dope smokers and drug addicts.

I totally support the legalization of pot. It should be taxed and regulated. In principle or theoretically I believe that all drug use is a personal decision and harming yourself shouldn't be a crime. Practically, I know that hard drug addicts are going to rob and burglarize to get money. I don't see how we can legalize hard drugs without more negative consequences.

Any idea how many illegals are in jail just for being here illegally? i don't. I'm guessing your typical illegal alien inmate did more than just cross the border.
