2011 Football schedule (opponents)
I think we have the nuts and bolts but not the order...

Howard, Alabama State, UofM and PSU in Sept (in order).

In October and November, but not sure of the order:

"EMU
Home – Akron, BSU, Buffalo, WMU
Away – CMU, Kent, NIU, Toledo"

(borrowed from a post from the main MAC board).

In '10 EMU did poorly at home.

The 'Crazy" scenario for '11 is EMU going 6 - 0 at home... 04-cheers

EMU should win say 4 games at home this year and maybe one on the road.

There are 4 pretty tough teams on the schedule.

Howard - 95+%
Alabama State 90%
UofM 5%
PSU 5%
Akron 50%
BSU 50%
Buffalo 60%
Kent 40%
WMU 33%
CMU 25%
NIU 10%
Toledo 15%

Think of Howard and Al State and 'guaranteed W's' and Akron/BSU/Buffalo/Kent as 'pick em' games. Assume we win 2 of the 4 - don't know which two, but two.

That's the 'base' 4 wins.

The season will be a big success if we win 3 of the 4 or if we win one we 'shouldn't win like WMU, CMU, UT, or NIU.

I'm hoping now for 5 wins.

Six wins could be Howard, Al State, 3 of the 4 'pick em' games, plus say WMU.

That would get English a few votes for Coach of the Year. 04-bow

Best case scenario: EMU beats Howard, Al St, Akron, BSU, Buff, WMU, and Kent. That's 7-5 and EMU is bowl eligible. If the defense improves to mediocre and the running game dominates this is possible.

How about 8 - 5 with a win in the Pizza Bowl? 03-cloud9

Nickle and I will storm the field and try to get on camera with Erin Andrews. 04-cheers

One of the wins against the 1-AA teams won't count as a win to become bowl eligible... Correct?

Translation:
This is EMU. We haven't won enough to be proficient with bowl eligibility rules.

Correct.

We need seven wins.

As Nickle indicates, this schedule is one of those schedules where a much improved EMU team could get on a roll and really exceed expectations.

This schedule is really designed to produce a favorable record.
