Feast your eyes on this genius.

I can see the ESPN commercial now:

I'd never committed an act of ecoterrorism before, but now...Roll Tide.

This is unbelievable! I clown with Tech and ULM folks all the time, but to even think about doing something like this is a mental illness... I hope they catch this moron.

I'm not condoning what happened to the trees... I think it was a despicable act. However, I think this was an Alabama fans' retaliation to Auburn acts:
-- vandalizing Bear Bryant's tombstone
-- burying a picture of Auburn Coach Pat Dye under Bear Bryant's tombstone
-- putting a Cam Newton jersey on Bear Bryant's statue
-- rolling the tree when Bear Bryant died
-- rolling the tree when Tyrone Prothro broke his ankle in the Florida game 2005
-- rolling the tree when Alabama lost in the SEC Championship 2008
-- vandalizing Nick Saban's Lake House and painted his boat house orange and blue after Alabama's loss to South Carolina in 2010
-- placing Auburn national championship stickers on Bear Bryant's statue
-- planting ryegrass in front of the Alabama's Walk of Champions to reflect a 28-27 score from the 2010 Iron Bowl

Again, I am not condoning this because I hate that Auburn fans will lose their tree... but their acts were begging for a redneck to do something like this.

That's a pretty lengthy list of rationalizations...how many of them are factually accurate and not "urban legend?"

There's a link to an article with pics of at least 2 of those occurrences, and a pic of the Auburn Nat. Champ. sticker on the Bear statue...

FWIW...

The link above verifies the jersey on Bear Bryant, the burying of Pat Dye's picture under Bear Bryant's tombstone, and the Auburn stickers on Bear Bryant's statue.

Here is a pic of the ryegrass incident:

This article describes the vandalism at Nick Saban's lake house, and the rolling of the trees when Bear Bryant died.

If you listen to the Paul Finebaum show there is an Auburn caller how mentions pissing on Bryant's grave.

The rolling of the tree in 2005 after Tyrone Prothro's injury and in 2008 when Alabama lost to Florida in the SEC Championship are recent events...

Having seen the photo of this, it seems both tame and pretty clever.

I don't agree with desecration of any grave...that's bad. But, come on, man! A jersey and rollin' Toomer's Corner after Bear died? Those were the two reasons the guy gave for poisoning the area. The people that have perpetrated these acts are, at best sisewalk fans...no real ties to the schools at all. Well, the jersey thing and rye-grass sound like college pranks...

I didn't say it was right, but you can't expect for acts like that to go on without retaliation when rednecks are involved. Haha.

That's not the bigger issue here...the fact that you are justifying the actions of a potential felon, by running down a list of auburn transgressions, is.

Where did I justify anything? Go re-read my posts. I think it is a terrible thing. All I said is that with what Auburn has done it doesn't surprise me that an Alabama fan would do this.

Dude...all you did was preface your post with, "I don't condone this behavior, but..." Then you listed reasons why you could see why a bama fan would do what he did. Just a little misdirection, but still...nevermind...My apologies for coming to that conclusion.

So when the time comes and Troy vs USA becomes a great rivalry can we agree to be the grownups in the state? Most of our fans will have an actual connection to the schools.....

... Idiots cheer for all kinds of teams.

And Al from Dadeville, we can all agree, is an idiot.

Proof once again that Paul Finebaum attracts half-wits and drooling, slobbering degenerates. Hope he comes to a Texas station real soon!

I was working in Mobile and sharing a cubicle with a Bama fan during the coach Fran/Mike price era. Heard Finebaum's callers every day and most of them made my skin crawl. Mind you, I still listened, so what does that make me?

Please refrain from incorrectly quoting me. If you read more closely, I actually stated: "I'm not condoning what happened to the trees... I think it was a despicable act." Please note the part after the ellipsis. I can understand what generalization you might have reached, but it was in error. BTW, apology accepted.
