Republican Senators vote to end direct deposit for coward dems

Quote:Democrats who have already missed two consecutive floor sessions will now have to come to get their paychecks directly from Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) on the floor of the Senate.

"The majority leader shall provide the checks only to the absent Senator and only on the floor of the Senate during a session day," the new rule reads.

That's creative and funny all at the same time.

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/02/22/wi...n-website/

Quote:The Democratic Party of Wisconsin spoke out forcefully Tuesday after it was discovered that the state Capitol had blocked a website that was attempting to organize those protesting Republican Gov. Scott Walker's plan to strip unions of their rights.

Anyone trying to use the state Capitol's Wi-Fi connection to access http://www.defendwisconsin.org Monday and early Tuesday received an error message.

Exactly. It's such a surreal thing to me, I can't even conceptualize it.

Example: I have a difficult project coming up at work that I don't really want to do. So what I'll do is flee to Florida for a few weeks until it all hopefully blows over. In the meantime, keep depositing my paychecks in the bank.

To be fair.. the people that voted for them, are probably happy they've left the state.

They voted for democrats with liberal policies, the only way they can avoid a conservative bill going through is by fleeing the state, so in that way, they are working for the people that voted for them.

True, but some day the democrats will have a majority again and when opposite happens people will be pissed.

By breaking the law?

That's a bad omen.

How many posts can be submitted "during the work day" without forfeiting an "honest day's work"?

My hope is that someday we'll succeed. Unions are outdated and completely uneccessary. The majority of workers are not unionized and do just fine.

Why should 28% of workers be guaranteed pensions, paying virtually nothing for their healthcare and have protection from being fired for incompetence when then other 72% of us have no such benefits?

I would like someone to outline one positive thing a union provides outside of simply ensuring it's members don't have to play by the same rules as the majority of workers and adding 5k to the price of every car I buy.
It sounds like your jealous more than anything. You do know one of the reasons you DON'T make more is because the company YOU work for can set the wage and benefits at whatever the hell they want. You want the job? Take what we give you and be happy. There is little to no negotiating. What do you think is going to happen to wages/benefits when there is no negotiating? If you then throw in eliminating the minimum wage(which you guys on the right want to eliminate), eliminate child labor laws(see the nutjob in Missouri). get rid of workplace regulation and the EPA(all these things are a part of the Republican plan) what do you have? China. I guess the good thing is that we could compete with China on wages and bring industry back to the US to export our goods to our biggest export market: China.
