Almost sounds like PA. You can only buy beer in a beer distributor or at a restaurant. Here in the "Bible Belt" town of Augusta, GA, where the SBC was created, I can buy a 30 pack or wine at any given convenience store or grocery store. Can't buy on Sunday, but I can get sloshed in a restaurant after noon. Never figured that one out.

Even where I live, although you can buy on Sunday (grocery stores or wherever), you have to wait until noon any place you go. I think Wisconsin and/or Minnesota has the same thing, at least at the place I stopped while driving through. Pretty dumb, to me.

Here I California I can by any kind of booze 24/7. Dunno if Cali is afraid of losing the tax money or if they're worried about the rights of winos.

Unless you want to cut taxes for Muslims, Jews, gays, athiests, buddists, and hindus then they deserve equal representation in government, they are citizen & tax payers and they should be expected to live within the laws set down by state, local and federal governments only. That is not a hard concept to grasp it's called seperation (it's kind of a big deal)03-shhhh

1. Where did this come from? It doesn't seem directly connected w/ any previous link.

2. Are you suggesting they're not equally represented?

I am suggesting social CONservatives do not want them to be represented equally and as communities attempt to ban the construction of mosques and gays aren't allow to at the very least have civil unions they are in fact not being allowed the same freedoms you and I have.

No problem with gays. I can do without the Hajis.

Maybe I have missed something. Who is calling for the BANNING of new Mosques? Or is this just your way of spinning the facts? What the mosque protesters wanted is for that group to move the location away from proximity to ground zero where many were murdered by Islamic extremists. So, you call it banning mosques. You spin well enough to work for MSNBC, NY Times, Time magazine or Newsweek. Kahn (?) is not who the MSM was trying to paint him as. He has a history (not moderate) and many of his provocative statements are stored digitally. Hard to deny he hasn't said those things.

How do you determine IF a group is being represented EQUALLY? Honest question, even if I have no idea where your comments came from other than out of left field.

Is equal representation determined by favors bestowed upon a group by our wonderfully benevolent government? Ex. - how many of you realize that the (now unconstitutional) Obamacare grants a waiver on a number of provisions to Muslims? Is that evidence of equal representation? Their greivance monger lobbyists and front groups did a good job bending somebody's ears on the healthcare bill to get them concessions unavailable to other ordinary Americans.

Of course I'm speaking about Healthcare reform. YOU may deserve Medicare and you can have it. I'll be heading to Costa Rico to pay for better care out of pocket, if that disaster of "REFORM" ever really becomes reality.

Ah, cut him some slack. Parsing words is what he does best. Kind of his Columbo routine, without the intelligence part.

Not sure about any mosque issues.

I've no real objection to civil unions, although I've yet to have anyone point out what freedoms that I have that are denied to gays.

Well the "Ground Zero Mosque" (the one that wasn't a Mosque and wasn't at "ground zero") comes to mind.

You mean the one that included a mosque and was just a few city blocks from ground zero?

You know, b/c you're all about facts.

Mr. P must be the only one here who would be hunky-dory with the KKK building a meeting place to plan their evil.

It's called freedom of assembly. As long as they don't violate the law they are welcome to parade their ignorance for all to see.
