RE: ULL/ULM Solution
I'm impressed that the state of Tennessee gave so much thought to avoid regional bias. In Louisiana, historically speaking the north wielded disproportionate power. We still see it today. Outside of New Orleans the south has seen population growth but the north has been in a decline. So naturally when we lose a congressional seat it will be the coastal parishes where the population is growing who lose. Must be some unwritten law that Shreveport and Monroe cannot share a representative.

Okay, I'll go ahead and bite.

ULL - University of Lower Louisiana

ULM - University of Louisiana - Middle

What do you think?
I'm going to get one last lick in on this 05-deadhorse

You realize there is another school in Louisiana that's called Southern.

Southern - South (way too close for comfort)

Now I'm all for ULM to rebrand as North Louisiana if they want 05-stirthepot

RE: ULL/ULM Solution
Louisiana sure does have a lot of universities per capita-- off the top of my head
1-Cajuns, 2-Warhawks, 3-LSU, 4-LaTech, 5-Grambling, 6-Southern, 7-McNeese State, 8-Nicholls State, 9-Northwestern State, 10-SLU , 11-Tulane, 12-UNO, 13-Centenary, 14-Louisiana College (not sure of enrollment)

Tennessee off the top:
1-MT, 2-UT-obKNOXiousville, 3-Memphis State, 4-East Tennessee, 5- TN Tech, 6- Austin Peay, 7-UT-Chattanooga, 8-UT-Martin, 9-Vandy, 10-Lipscomb, 11-Belmont, 12-TSU (and an assortment of small Jucos and NAIA's)

To be fair, though, Tulane, Loyola, Xavier, Dillard, Centenary and Louisiana College are all private schools.

RE: ULL/ULM Solution
ULM could become Monroe State University and ULL could become Lafayette State University.

Uh..... no.

Neither one of us wants sh*t to do with any school in Louisiana with 'State' in its name.

Thanks for playing.

MTPiKapp, interesting. I never knew the symbolism of the three stars in your state flag.

Kentucky has 6 recognized regions based on geology. Bowling Green is in what is known as the Pennyrile.

The one region that everyone has heard of is the Bluegrass, which is where half of Kentucky's population lives (Louisville, Lexington, Frankfort, and the suburbs of Cincinnati.)

Like Louisiana, the north has all of the political and financial power in Kentucky.

Monroe State Mud Dogs!!! I like the sound of that. Their slogan can be " At Monroe State... You can do it!!!"

I'll let UL-Lafayette come up with their own. They don't want help.
