If I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
I'd buy you a house
(I would buy you a house)
If I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
I'd buy you furniture for your house
(Maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman)
And if I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you a K-Car
(A nice Reliant automobile)
If I had a million dollars I'd buy your love

Mubarak can now buy a chateau next to the one once owned by Yasser Arafat. 03-puke

Instead of spending money on these azzholes, we should be making money off them by selling arms to all sides and let things naturally play out.

The most effective foreign aid we do is US companies going there and hiring locals.

Even those "sweat shops" that Nike puts in SE Asia have done more to improve the lives of people--particularly poor people--than all of the foreign aid money that's sitting in dictators' Swiss bank accounts.

Kept the Suez open and Egypt on friendly terms with Israel and the U.S. 100 billion over 30 years is, IMO, a bargain.

I have argued over and over with progressives that there really are NO sweatshops. People take these jobs because they are more profitable and easier than toiling in the hot sun producing crops. Are the jobs fun? NO. Have people been taken advantage of? YES...but...the same can be said about subsistence agriculture. It is all relative. The overall outcome though is most of these people end up living better lives in the long run being employed in manufacturing.

Both of my Grandparents worked in so called "sweatshop" conditions working for Collins and Aikman(textiles)for over 40 years. They did however own their own home, put 2 sons through college and were able to live comfortable lives in their retirement years.

I've been inside a "sweatshop" in Indonesia. The waiting line for a job there was like waiting for Packers season tickets.

Silly locals, don't they know that over-educated Western liberals know what is best for them?
