New Column: Turning The Page...Again
The last time Bob Huggins brought WVU to town it felt like a turning point. What about now?

RE: New Column: Turning The Page...Again
It did have the potential to be a major turning point, but then came the epic collapse down the stretch, losing three games they had no business losing where wins would have had them in really good position to make the NCAA tournament.

Then last year started with such promise only to have another collapse down the stretch and the skepticism continued.

Hopefully this is the year where UC finally finishes and earns the NCAA birth.

It would be very nice to be 19-3 heading into Pittsburgh...

RE: New Column: Turning The Page...Again
I liked the improvement on the offensive end vs. Rutgers. Seemed like we were really trying to run an offense instead of passing it around the perimeter and fretting. We will need to keep that up vs. WVU and Pitt.

Larry Davis did some great things last night with his ability to get into the lane, draw defenders, and then make a nice pass to the open man. We will need that kind of play against WVU and Pitt. Would like to see that kind of vision out of Cash and Dixon...

Davis has been the X factor this year IMO. I thought he was a lost cause after last year, but he is probably our most consistent player both offensively and defensively. And does a lot of the little things that go unnoticed, like shutting down the best guard of the opposition and drawing pressure with dribble penetration on offense.

I am not 100% impressed with his D. Have been watching him and like other's said he seems to be chasing a lot of times. But one thing about Larry is he always brings intensity. He has been hitting the 3 at a great clip and has been doing some great things with dribble penetration. I wish nothing but the best for him.

I've been the biggest Larry Davis basher on this board, but I am going to praise him this time. His play is definitely improved. Better shot selection, better shooting accuracy, more intensity, better passing. For a 4-year player, we know he is not really a Big-East quality guard, but his attitude this year has been outstanding and his play has shown considerable improvement from the last two years. He gives us good depth at the guard position and we will need that through the remainder of the season and into the BE tournament.

this game is HUGE for the Cats....not bc it's against Huggs/WVA specifically...but it's at home, it's winnable and it puts us in GREAT position at
19-3 (6-3) if we win...

the sold out Shoe makes it all the better...HUGE HUGE game.
