Freshman J. J. Thomas is the real deal. A career high 22 points tonight and just missed his fourth straight double double with nine rebounds. 02-13-banana

Basketball reunion weekend at the 'Dome. A season high 5600 on hand to watch it all unfold.

Close game till the end. We made some mistakes and let them pull away.

I was surprised that Richard left 55 (Brown?) in with 4 fouls early in the 2nd half. Was not surprised when he fouled out with 12 mins to go.

I heard on our post game show that ya'll played only 7 players, which means that you had a couple of 40 min. guys there.

Are both a question of your depth?

Cajuns were without Farrington, so our rebounding hurt us against ULM. The game might not have been as close at the end had Farrington played in the post. Both teams are not that good, but it you take the win.

A short answer is Yes. Richard inherited almost nothing as 5 players from last year are gone due to transfers, academics, etc. Early did us no favors...probably why he jumped ship as fast as he did to become an assistant. He saw the academic problems coming (that he created) so he is gone. There are only a couple of players with any significant playing time from last year. Not an excuse. We expected a horrible year. I am just surprised that there have been several games that we have had a chance to win and with a couple of breaks, this team could have been floating at around .500 at this point.
