There's only 1 Cajun fan I know that wants us to leave for the WAC. Thankfully, those on Reinhardt Drive in Lafayette don't want us to join the WAC and that's all that matters. If we wanted to join a conference with a bunch of I-AA teams, we'd join the Southland Conference instead of the WAC and there is no chance in hell that that will happen.

Hey I know we suck at basketball....I have no idea how we won the SBC last year haha....I typically only follow Football thats what I like, and Football is KING in Alabama.

Maybe once our new Arena opens next season we can get better players and such.

Actually, USA has a very good baseball reputation also. USA has won 10 regular season championships and 8 tournament championships under Kitrell. Kitrell has led USA to regionals 18 times since 1989....the problem is Kitrell has never won a regional.

And we benefit from being in the Sun Belt Conference, a conference that receives multiple bids to the field of 64 every season. A move to the WAC would really hurt our baseball program.

ULL is not leaving the Belt because that would then leave ULM in the superior conference. People can spin it all they want, but SBC will be a much better conference than the WAC once the defectors are gone. Even more so once they add more start up programs. The schools that they are proudly speculating as perspective members would make me puke in my mouth if the situation was reversed.

With USA on the way in, having one school defect wouldn't be that big a deal, at least not in football.

Back to the original thread, I can't believe UL would seriously consider going WACy. Cajuns like to party, but they generally rational decisions while sober! And they are smart enough to not make major decisions when NOT sober. Except about women, but that goes in a different category anyway.

I heard their focus was still NT, giving Tech a travel partner. I read some NT fans on the WAC board are cleary excited about the potential NT/TSU rivalry. It looks like there is a whole lot of corn whiskey being distilled up in Denton.

Stories of the Roswell crash keep coming up over and over as well. Frankly, I put more stock in THOSE stories than Benson making yet another certain to fail run at North Texas. As for the Cajuns, I think someone just plucked a school name out of the air.
