49ers Add Home Game To Inaugural Season - Charlotte 49ers
Just for information purposes. I still contend that UNCC will be a great option for SBC expansion in the near future. I include Georgia State and Kennesaw state in that analysis.

I don't see it happening, although it would be a good basketball addition. If the SBC were to expand, I can see them going the same route as the AQ's - pursuing markets in areas that possess quality recruiting circles. That is why I see UTSA as a potential expansion school. Georgia State is also an option.

I agree. Take this crap to the wac boards, they are desperately seeking anybody...

The only expansion I'm for is expanding football season to 50 games a year if it will save us from this garbage...

Just to play devil's advocate, Charlotte is more intriquing to me than any of the other start ups. They're typically pretty good in men's basketball, right? Anyway, it doesn't really matter, I'm not for expansion anyway and Charlotte would be the sixth FBS program in a state that isn't that big and isn't known for high school football and even playing FBS ball they'll probably take some time to pass FCS App State.

Good point.

The pecking order for football appears to me to be:

UNC
NC State
East Carolina
Wake Forest
Duke
App State and then UNCC

Some of the ACC-member NC schools struggle to fill their football stadiums while their basketball arenas sellout. East Carolina (C-USA) does pretty well attendance-wise in football, though. Since moving here from Alabama I have not been impressed with high school football in the state, but especially here in western North Carolina.

NC State and UNC-Chapel Hill are interchangeable. I'd put NC State above the Tar Heels for football in most years including this year.

Im tired of taking FCS programs. The SBC needs to go beyond that mess....
