If I am not mistaken, this is the first nationally televised Sunbelt game not at Diddle since New Mexico State was in the conference. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Nothing wrong with FAU and UALR getting some national exposure too after their respectable OOC seasons and promising Sun Belt prospects.

All true, and congrats to FAU-UALR, but how does UNT not get this game(this year). Makes no sense to me. Kinda like televising one of our football games not including Troy.

Personally, if I were picking a Sunbelt game to air, I would want a UNT home game this year. But give FAU some credit. They beat a couple of BCS teams this year too. This is some good pub for a couple of belt teams that don't usually get much.

And I suspect that since Jarvis coached at St. Johns and George Washington that the ESPN programming folks figure that he may give FAU more east coast appeal than any other program.

That is apparently important to them.

I agree with you. If we could only choose one team from the conference to showcase on national broadcast, this year it's NT. Hell, I wish I could have seen that LSU demolition on TV.

Even though this is great for FAU, I agree as well.

UNT is having a FANTASTIC season. UALR and FAU are having good ones. I do think that Jarvis might be one of the reasons. His name is still known in the northeast.

I hope the Burrow is packed that night.

Well, a sell out would certainly make the SBC look better, and improve the current FAU attendance average of 1064. I'm shocked that your attendance is that low with the success yall have had on the court this season.

A UNT team playing an ASU that has given them fits and now stands 2-0 in league would have been an interesting choice.

Basketball just isnt a big deal in S. Florida to be honest. Winning certainly helps that of course.

Also keep in mind the Burrow only seats 2700 after the renovation.

Also we have only played 3 regular season home games...and one was when school was out for Thanksgiving.

But like OF said, college basketball has traditionally struggled in South Florida. UM doesn't draw fans and they are in the ACC with a new building. Our students have started to embrace this team though in recent years and our attendance has steadily improved. I'd expect some bigger crowds this year.

Not counting the Sun Belt Championships I can think of the game last year of UALR @ USA that was on ESPN2, and a couple of years ago the USA @ ULM game was on ESPN2.

UALR has been on ESPN 2 a few times over my 7 years. ULL @ little rock, at Texas Tech a few years ago come to mind and I am sure there are a couple I am leaving out.

Im guessing ASU's bad nonconference season cost UNT the game that day... sorry guys. we'll just have to try harder in games that dont involve North Texas from now on

Try harder in all other games, lay down and surrender against North Texas.

It's a good philosophy for everyone, not just Arkansas State.
