FIU win from that MAC fan
I am back from the best bowl game I can remember.
FIU played great and so did Toledo. We were up at half and honestly I though we had it in the bag... FIU kept fighting and T.Y got them back into the game with the kick return. I said before this game it would come down to special teams. T.Y scored a 90 yrd TD. EP was virtually a non factor. I said our punt and kick block team was bad....and the blocked a punt that gave them the 7 point lead made a huge impact. Toledo fought back, but a bad kick to squib it bit is in the butt. A hook and ladder(brilliant play) was enough for the first and the rest is history.

The Adonis Thomas run in the first half was incredible it showed that FIU was not faster than Toledo. He broke free and got space, while FIU's RB was caught from behind. BUT.. T.Y was something else, he is really a player and definantly was faster than anyone on Toledo's D, or O.

Bottom line, Toledo made too many mistakes, and they couldn't get the big stop when they needed it. Both coaches were ready for each other, but FIU never quit and hit us hard in the second half.

The Sun Belt conferance has just gained my respect for the time being. It was fun, and a huge crowed for Toledo and a decent 500 for FIU.

GO MAC, I am gone.... until next year.

Your second sentence has me puzzled. :)

I think I might have to disagree with you about team speed. T.Y. Hilton was pretty quick and out-ran his defenders in key moments in that game including the 4th and 17 conversion and kickoff return for a touchdown.

I said T.Y was faster than everyone... But as a team both looked even. Adonis killed the FIU secondary and we caught up with their RB from across the field. Still doesnt matter. FIU will be good in years to come, We only graduate 12. We will be good too, I hope for a match up sometime soon.

The MAC may win more of our bowls games when we play each other again next year and in other years it may go our way in bowl games. Believe what you want but the Sun Belt and MAC are about the same in terms of talent and I would say in other areas as well. Please don't come back the next time the MAC has the advantage in bowl wins claiming that you are superior because you had a good year and I won't say that the Sun Belt is better just because of this year. Honestly though, with all of our recruiting grounds in the South, I suspect we will pass the MAC, if we haven't already. Honestly the attitude of many MAC fans amazes me. The Sun Belt has been around 10 years and has finally become established in terms of talent over the last 3 or 4 seasons. The MAC is fun to watch and I'm a fan, but some MAC fans need to rethink their position in regards to the Sun Belt.

I almost did too.

After the 2pt Conversion I was REAL tempted to turn it off and go to bed. After the Kick Return gave them position I decided in for a penny in for a pound.

Sure glad I did.

AAAAAHHHH! The advantages to living in the West! If a game is scheduled to start at 8:30pm Eastern Time, it's usually done around 10:00 or 10:30pm Mountain Time.

Great game Toledo. We were in the dumps until T.Y. saved us and re-lit that fire which had turned into smoldering embers.

Lots of heart from both team....we're on freaking cloud 9 right now.

Best of luck going forward.

Go Panthers and Go Belters !!!

Congrates on the win and FIU also had a number of fans in the stands as well. The Toledo fan is actually pretty funny, great win!

Well we all appreciate this!! Thanks so much! 03-lmfao

With the addition of new blood at NT, Ark St, and U of Louisiana the Sunbelt now sets its sights on CUSA... later WAC...later MAC..

I was one of those who thought "this is going to get ugly" in the first half...then I was "uh oh!! Come on FIU" to "well, good effort" after to 2 pt conversion and then the sack an 4 and 17. Way to never say die!!

Way to go FIU!!

I guess we do play some decent ball down here in the SBC.

Come on Mid Tenn......make it 3-0!!
