Terrance Owens made some freshmen mistakes in this game. He'll get better. I felt Tim Beckmen coached a really good game. The only blatantly obvious call I question is going for the squibb kick to begin FIU's last drive. Why not punch it through the endzone and at least make FIU go an extra 25 or so yards? They began that drive close to midfield.

I do wonder if the FIU running game finally caught up with Toledo's defense. FIU has some speed, and I wonder if it played a part in wearing down Toledo down defensively in the second half. Toledo did seem tired. FIU had a great deal of momentum keeping them energized.

This loss still stings for this Toledo fan. That said, FIU was as good as advertised among those experts who expected them to win. Hell of a comeback. You're a good team and certainly a program on the rise. Tell your fans to save their pennies. You'll be bowling for years to come.

the MAC fans have been very gracious in defeat. I must say I have developed a lot of respect for your Conference thanks to the fine fans we've had contact with. BGSU, Ohio, and Toledo have all made positive impressions on me this season.

Of the three, Toledo had the best smack/discussion. BGSU had the nicest overall fans.

I really enjoy Sun Belt vs. MAC games. I think our two Conferences are on the same level of play and provide exciting games when we clash. The fanbases seem to get along well enough and the banter is always fun. Overall I have enjoyed it. I hope we can continue to play one another in the future.

Best of luck to BGSU and Ohio next season. You guys are my Mid-American teams next season.
