So Adam Curry has started playing some Ben Liebrand remixes on Daily Source Code. Back when Adam was doing pirate radio in the North Sea, Liebrand, a Dutch DJ, would do a remix for him every week.
Every single remix I've heard has blown me the f*** away. He did a remix of Jan Hammer - Crockett's Theme, a solid 9 of 10 .... and a remix of Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Rage Hard (Young Person's Guide to the 12" Mix).... which is a OVER NINE THOUSANDDDDDDDD of 10. So awesome somebody actually did a play off the composer Benjamin Britten in a club/dance track.
Honorable Mention The National- High Violet MGMT- Congratulations The Stone Foxes- Bears and Bulls Nas and Damian Marley- Distant Relatives Morning Benders- Big Echo Tokyo Police Club- Champ Best Coast- Crazy For You Surfer Blood- Astro Coast
I'd include Local Natives in this, but i'm pretty sure i put them on last year's list

I imagine it's hard to keep up with it as you get older. Hell, my dad doesn't know any music past the early 70's. And kanye might be a moron and douche, but he is really creative

I'm thinking it has more to do with taste, not age. I like a lot of new bands. Queens of the Stone Age, 30 Seconds to Mars, etc.

haha, sorry to disappoint you, but queens of the stone age is not a new band. 30 seconds to mars is newer, but i'd hardly call them a new band. And i actually have to disagree. My dad likes a lot of the bands i share with him, but he doesn't quite know how to keep up with them like i do. He's an excellent internet user for his age, but at 59 keeping up with a band or searching for new music isn't a reflex for him like it is for me. I think that's the reason you're calling QOTSA a new band

the hangover has a theme song?
i assumed this is what you meant since they used this song in the trailer and in the movie, but i didn't want to be wrong. i'm surprised you knew this was Kanye. Perhaps you're a closet Yeezy fan?

he's the best selling artist of the decade. Recovery is the first rap album to ever spend 16 straight weeks in the top 10.
Kanye's album is great because of the production...songs are just OK. hell, the best song imo didn't even make it onto the album:
edit: anyone else having trouble with pages taking minutes to load...or not loading at all?
i'll easily act like that. Em's album was good, but far from top 10. The production was pedestrian, some of the lyrics were just stupid and the listener spends the whole album being yelled at. He used to yell his raps on a handful of songs, meaning the ones that required that certain serial killer vibe. But these days he yells on everything. Hell, listen to Love The Way You Lie pt. 2 on Rihanna's album. He yells like the listener is standing at the other end of a football field. Kanye's album is creative, adventurous and the production is as good as it gets on a hip hop album. Also, the guests are excellent (save for CyHi Da Prince). Face it, Em's album is a decent rap record from 2010. Yeezy's album is a timeless hip hop album.
BTW, what do his sales numbers have to do with this? So you're gonna tell me that sales determine quality? So i guess you're putting Taylor Swift in the top 5 of 2010?
Also, the CRS song was a better GOOD Friday song, but this one's good too

If you're impatient ... skip to 5:10. Audio quality is terrible (fading to mono and back) ... and it's missing the last 4 and a half minutes ... but you'll get a feel for it.
