Jay Walker's Christmas Wish List for SBC
http://espn1420.com/dear-santa/

...........And, for my friends around the Sun Belt Conference:

Arkansas State–Wisdom when hiring compliance officers. UL got that gift a few years back. It sure makes life easier

Arkansas LIttle Rock–A home that fits the profile of who you are

Denver–Enough teams in the WAC to have a league.

FAU–Some fans to put in that new stadium.

FIU–The ability to generate revenue to you don’t have to built athletics on the backs of your student population.

ULM–See UALR

Middle Tennessee drop-the-state=–An easier fight in the name battle than what we’ve had

South Alabama–One helluva going away party for Steve Kittrell. Please make sure I’m invited.

North Texas–A freaking baseball team. Please don’t call yourselves viable until you get one.

Troy–An increase in admission standards–geez.

Western Kentucky–The realization on the part of the administration that it isn’t always all about you. Especially when your football team goes 2-10.

Dear Santa... please bring Mr. Walker a gold plated microphone with the numbers 54 and 21 engraved on it. Thanks.

We should be giving wku a present. If not for that loss, the wheels would have stayed on the wagon a bit longer.

Enjoy it while you can.

I would rather see FAU get back to a winning season, compete for the belt and go back to a bowl... then the fans will come.

We must be doing something right.

In our home state, LSU constantly accuses us of envy.

In our conference, apparently, that job falls to Troy.

I think Jay's got the wish list right.

Of course you would...we wouldn't expect anyone at ULL to admit they have faults.

How's this for boom boom crash. USA and Troy have the same admission standards:

TROY First Time Freshman (Unconditional):
(minimum 2.0 GPA; "C" average) and scores achieved on the American College Testing Program (minimum composite of 20 on the ACT), or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (minimum composite of 950).

TROY First Time Freshman (Conditional):
If the high school grade point average is less than 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale), the applicant must have a minimum composite score of 20 on the ACT or 950 or the SAT. If the applicant's composite score on the ACT is less than 20 (but not less than 17) or 940 on the SAT (but not less than 830), he/she must have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale).

South Alabama First Time Freshman (Unconditional):
Must have earned a minimum 2.0 overall high school GPA and a minimum; and have achieved a score of 19 on the composite ACT (or equivalent score on SAT).

South Alabama First Time Freshman (Conditional):
Have earned a minimum 2.5 overall high school GPA, a score of 16 to 18 on the composite ACT (or equivalent scores on SAT).

South's unconditional admission requirements are actually one point less than Troy's on the ACT and GPA requirements for conditional students.

You referenced admission standards, I gave you an answer you might not have wanted to accept. Your school can get the same kids we can based on admission standards. The same kids that get into Troy can get into South Alabama. The APR myth was debunked a while back. Might wanna check with arkstfan about that, skully. Most of what you've heard about APR exemptions has been through 3rd and 4th party information. Show me hard evidence (a document) that outlines Troy's APR exemptions and then we'll talk.

It's get a little personal because I actually go to TROY. So when someone takes a jab at Troy's admission standards, it's personal. I had a 3.7 GPA, top 10% of my class, etc. I didn't get into Troy because I was dumb.

I apologize if my response sounded mean, I was reporting some facts. My intent was not to be mean, but to instead be informative. Hopefully you understand. If someone keeps poking you with a little pin and you ask them stop and they keep doing it, eventually you're gonna wanna punch the guy. I don't want to punch you. I'm just showing the facts to south fans, who have repeatedly jabbed at troy's academics. And again, I apologize if I sounded mean, it was not my intent. Hopefully you understand. I understand you weren't trying to be mean either.

Merry Christmas to you regardless. 04-cheers

Oh I'm cool with ya guy. Just poking fun with a rival!

BTW, I had a full paid offer to Troy (that came reallllly late in the school year). I got it for my ACT score but I had already accepted my scholarship to USA (which wasn't full paid). I almost could be a Trojan... almost.

I would kill for a legit option in the spring. Once BB and lacrosse season is over in th Spring there really isn't that much to do around campus.
