LB's should be a focus this winter. Major improvements are needed at this position. Any projections on who the LB's will be in 2011? Returning players with experience are Brown, Boyd, English, and Weingrad. Curry and Hester both redshirted and both were considered to be good recruits when they signed. Has anyone heard about their development?

Sure could use an over-achiever like Holtzclaw in the next recruiting class. Wouldn't be surprised to see 2 JUCO's at this position.

I believe EMU79 asked why we (probably me, among others) concentrate so much on offense and so little on defense.

The answer, I'd think, is that we know SO LITTLE about the defense.

I can't answer 'Nickle's questions.

I can't tell you who the best LB was last year.

I can't project a starting LB lineup.

I can't tell you one word about the LB sitouts.

Defense is pretty much a fog to me.

I think the EMU defense has been foggy all of us the past few years.

KPJ is reporting you can add a JUCO LB to the mix. (see the FB Verbal recruiting thread).

Kurtz - new LB Verbal is a Dec Grad , hence he should be in school in Jan and participate in spring drills.

Correct.

Recruits who are qualified and can participate in spring drills are to be prized.

The good part about this is that it is much more likely that he'll be here in the fall. Perhaps EMU should only sign JUCOs like this.
