RE: Coach Salaries
This is from 2009, but it gives you an idea:

$403,000 -- FIU (Mario Cristobal)
$383,338 -- FAU (Howard Schnellenberger)
$320,889 -- Troy (Larry Blakeney)
$281,655 -- MTSU (Rick Stockstill)
$279,963 -- UNT (Todd Dodge)
$259,808 -- WKU (David Elson)
$226,000 -- ULL (Rickey Bustle)
$220,162 -- ASU (Steve Roberts)
$160,000 -- ULM (Charlie Weatherbie)

I don't have USA's figures right now. If I find them I will update this.

Stockstill got a big raise after the 09 season, I think he's up to 500k now or close to it.

Press reports have UNTs McCarney at over $500,000, perhaps $580,000.

The figures above show the salary for last year INCLUDING endorsements. I could only find USA coach Joey Jones' base salary (without endorsements), so I have the base salaries listed below for comparison NOT INCLUDING endorsements:

$403,000 -- FIU (Mario Cristobal)
$381,338 -- FAU (Howard Schnellenberger)
$275,000 -- USA (Joey Jones)
$269,899 -- Troy (Larry Blakeney)
$195,155 -- MTSU (Rick Stockstill)
$230,000 -- UNT (Todd Dodge)
$250,008 -- WKU (David Elson)
$166,760 -- ULL (Rickey Bustle)
$140,000 -- ASU (Steve Roberts)
$160,000 -- ULM (Charlie Weatherbie)

Do you think Stockstill is on the call list for the Vanderbilt job? There was talk that he was on the list for the FSU job three years ago.

Stock would not take the job. It's a graveyard. Vandy would not hire an "MT" coach. The Commode Odors are too elite 01-wingedeagle

Someone on the radio the other day, pointed out this tiny little fact about Vandy....it's a million dollar graveyard. I'd LOVE to coach there and then retire. What's the going rate per year? $2M? Yeah....give me a 4 yr contract of that.

Hell, you couldn't do any worse than the other HC's they've had over the years, sans Bobby Johnson

If initial reports are true North Texas will jump to the top of the Sun Belt with room to spare.

That's a lot of coin for your fifth choice.

Well he is making $469k this year, my understanding of the bonuses are that they are salary elevators. I'm not sure if when he hits whatever numbers he has to hit, if he is paid them in the season he hits them in or not, but the salary elevators are permanent. So whatever he hits this year will be permanently added to his salary. He has a chance to add up to $500k to his salary over the life of the contract, so by his final year, if he were to hit every performance mark, he'd be making $969k. We're still playing for a bowl game, I'd imagine making a bowl game triggers one, winning one triggers another. Having a winning season probably triggers another, so a bowl win(making us 7-6) could trigger two salary elevators for Stock.
