FIU's holiday destination in hands of bowl organizers
http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/11/29/19...ds-of.html

Quote:FIU athletic director Pete Garcia acknowledged he had conversations with representatives from both New Orleans and GoDaddy.com on Sunday, but when asked about the Little Caesars Bowl, Garcia said, ``No comment.''
Garcia also would not discuss if the program had a preferred destination among the three games.
But it's hard to see the allure of Little Caesars, which is only an option because not enough Big Ten teams are eligible to fill the spot.
Both New Orleans and GoDaddy.com have regional ties to the Sun Belt, and FIU would be a virtual unknown in the Midwest.
As soon as Saturday's game ended, giving the Golden Panthers the necessary six wins, New Orleans was free to make overtures to FIU -- and even an unofficial invitation.

NEW ORLEANS WAITS
But Sam Joffray, a New Orleans Bowl spokesman, said organizers would wait until after this weekend's games to decide on its Sun Belt representative. Meaning: Middle Tennessee is being strongly considered for the spot, if it can get bowl-eligible.
