Who is the MWC talking with?
MWC looking for member #12

They are talking to someone. Could it be Houston as the media speculates?

RE: Who is the MWC talking with?
I don't see Houston or any other team leaving CUSA for the mess that is the MWC. CUSA has a better TV deal than the MWC now, and almost all of the Mtn.'s revenue was derived from the state of Utah. Their TV revenues are about to collapse and The Mtn. is done for as a network. I suspect they'll add Utah State to try to stay in the Utah market and for USU's strong basketball program. If not, then honestly, they should approach Montana to see if joining the MWC would change their decision to remain in FCS. Montana puts more on the table than NMSU, SJSU, or Idaho.

In the dreams of La Tech fans, yes it could. If a spot opens in C-USA and La Tech is passed over again, the meltdown on Bulldog Barks & Bytes will probably be the biggest in the history of a board that is famous for meltdowns.

RE: Who is the MWC talking with?
just my 2 cents...

if TCU goes...the MWC stays at 10...if TCU stays...Utah State will be added to replace the market lost with BYU and Utah.

the BE really wants TCU for football only, and Nova football to step up to FBS (D-1)...

CUSA has a big NO VACANCY sign out...

and the Sun Belt with La Tech and New Mexico State is MUCH stronger than the future WAC...

moreover, if anyone leaves CUSA, you replace market by market...

UCF goes...add FAU

UTEP or Houston goes...add UNT

La Tech will get in CUSA right after we get in the Big East...quarter til never.

Gotta procure that lucrative Hattiesburg, MS market. It's almost as desirable as that Troy, AL market.

Agree; I do not see why any CUSA school would leave for the MWC. The MWC should add Utah State and Montana and call it a day, with a nice regional footprint.

While chaos helps Tech, I cannot see USM jumping to the MWC.

Nothing benefits them in this situation.

I have a hard time thinking Houston will jump also. Without TCU, BYU, and Utah? Can't see it happening.

The only CUSA school that might go west would be UTEP, but they seem very happy in CUSA.

I can't see the MWC adding teams for the sake of adding teams. This seems to be the only non-AQ conference concerned more with the quality of the team than than the quality of the market. CUSA would rather stink in a large market than win in a small one.
