This year?
WKU, USA, and FAU in the east.
NT and ASU in the west.
I'll believe someone else has what it takes to win this conference this year when I see evidence of it. Not saying everyone else is going to be bad, just saying those are the teams that seem to have the strength and depth and coaching to take the title.

Aw we play enough AQ teams this year that we're bound to beat a couple of them.
Great win! Kansas will obviously be a step up, hope the MG can pull it off.

very good job unt. it's not just a big 12 team, it's an in-state team and that always gets the juices flowing.
skully.....don't get fired up....they're just haters.

We finally got our shot at one, and we kept the pace up. That's what I mean about "returning serve". They did it, we matched it against the first quality OOC opponent we faced.
You guys get your shot tomorrow against what should be a pretty good USM team, and I already posted on our forum that I'm pulling for you.
ASU crapped the bed tonight. FAU gets a shot at stronger OOC games later in the year (two out of three against decent ones... not a bad start).
I've got a ton of respect for USA basketball and Ronnie Arrow. Tomorrow is your shot to keep up the pace.
Sorry if I ruffled any feathers. I don't have particular posts to go back to. It was just how I perceived things from posts this past summer and last spring. UNT is good in my book, and if you go to the USA board you will see where I was rooting for ya guys over there. Keep up the good work. We need more good teams in the league!
FWIW, I think FAU held serve against Wisconsin-Milwaukee. UWM is usually a good team. I remember seeing them play in the NCAA tournament in 2006 and beating Oklahoma. Their average RPI is usually 150 or less, so this might turn out to be a good win for FAU.

From all accounts, this MT team is better than last years' "championship" team. I thought we sucked pretty hard last season. I think that come conference time, any team could be incredibly different than they are right now and could jumble up anyone's predictions.

Isn't there a financial penalty whenever fans rush the court?

This is the same Skully that shoves the football sagarin rankings in everyone's face just about every week. Only because USA is higher ranked than the rest of the conference members. Start playing FBS football, then post your sagarins.

I've posted the Sagarins twice this year. I don't make any conclusions or insinuations. I've done the same for basketball. If you don't like the threads then don't read them.

I don't see how you guys can improve the year you lost the single most powerful, multifaceted weapon in the league in Desmond Yates.
I thought MTSU was among the favorites the past two years. And I don't think they're going to be terrible (I have some faint hopes for a UAB win tonight), but I don't see this team being better than the ones that had Desmond Yates.

Yates did play hurt last year. Not sure if he'll ever be the same guy that he was earlier in his career. He just recently signed on with a team out of Germany. Yates hurt us on defense last year, but it will be difficult to find that "go to" guy, like Boogie.
Yates missed around 10 games last season.
I'm not sold that we'll be better, but we "look" the part. Waay to early to tell, but we were NOT a very good team at the end of the year, as witnessed by our lopsided ouster by Denver.

No one rushed the court, the students went out, walked onto it and sang the school song.

Skully is one of the most ardent supporters of our fellow conference members and he posts things that he believes many might find interesting. As he said, you are free to ignore them if you are one of those that don't care for them, but based on the responses plenty do.
