ULL Booting Bustle After The Season ?
UL-Lafayette: Our sources tell us that certain ULL coaches are expecting to be out of job following the season. The Ragin Cajuns are 2-8. We are getting conflicting reports whether ULL will go after USC assistant Ed Orgeron, if a change is made with Rickey Bustle. One source tells us ULL would be willing to pay Orgeron in the $425,000 range. Another source tells us Orgeron would not consider leaving USC for the position if approached by ULL.

Some say Bustle has already been given the boot.

I can tell you this for centain, Orgeron has contacted the program through a second party and is interested. And footballscoop.com needs better sources.

He has been told they are measuring interest in the program right now. He has not been told officially that he will not be retained. I expect that to happen this week according to my sources.

Hell, Cajun fans have been saying the same thing since the WKU loss. Looks like footballscoop.com would have picked up on it sooner. Everything else is fairly accurate with the exception of Bebe not wanting the job. He has wanted the job for 3 years.

There isn't an AD or college President in America stupid enough to hire Ed Orgeron. He's dragging along more baggage than all the carousels combined at Chicago's O'Hare and Atlanta's Hartsfield airports.

Um, so had Tim Floyd but that didn't stop him from getting interviewed. I don't know if he would be considered a serious candidate, but he most certainly has supporters in the program. BTW, there is a head coach in the SBC right now that had recorded phone conversation with him discussing money with a player, most people would take him as a coach today.

There is no such evidence against Orgeron, like him or not. And for the record, he isn't my first choice.

RE: ULL Booting Bustle After The Season ?
I'm thinking if there aren't enough bowl eligible teams to fill all bowls that ASU and UL should meet in New Orleans. Call it the Bourbon Street Double Down. Simple game, simple stakes. Double or nothing. Win and your buyout is doubled. Lose and you lose your buyout. It that's not made for TV drama, I don't know what is.

Also, get KFC to sponsor it. Losers have to eat a Double Down at midfield.

Winners get to take their Double Down home so that they can be spared some of the shame of it all, but still get fed.

I really like both these guys but I don't know if we would be able to get Dana Holgorson. I think he is similar to Malzhan, just waiting on a big school to come calling.

I think NMSU gave him the boot before he deserved it. NMSU is a tough place to win and he was building a base imho. I doubt he's actually a candidate, but I think he'd be a guy worth taking a risk on in an offense-happy conference. And he does have La. ties, having been the HC at SE La.
