An attendance reminder
Two ways that we count attendance, per NCAA rules:

1) Actual Attendance - Every ticket is scanned, and we have a readout that shows
how many tickets were scanned in by season ticket holders, single game buyers,
and students...This really helps to see how many walk-ups we have, how many
season ticket holders are showing up, and to see how the students are coming to
the games

2) Paid Attendance - Every schools "official" attendance number will be their
paid attendance. It is inevitable that someone will buy a ticket and not
show...it happens. Paid Attendance is calculated by doing the following:

Number of Season Tickets sold + Single Game Tickets sold + ACTUAL student
attendance + Scanned complimentary tickets = Paid Attendance

Per NCAA rules, the Athletics Department is not allowed to count students unless
they attend.

They also don't allow us to count ALL complimentary tickets, but only those that
are scanned in...Thus we could not giveaway 15,000 tickets and count them in
attendance, we could only count those that were actually used. We shy away from
comped tickets anyway...

The final piece of the puzzle is that we can count any ticket that is 1/3 or
more of our highest single game ticket price in the paid attendance. This
is helpful with giving discounts to groups...
