I'll reserve my opinion until I see it on the wood. . .

I like it for the most part. I would hate to play on it though.

Denver plays on that floor this week in the Oregon tourney (UCSB, Oregon, North Dakota State).

I guess I'm in the minority on here so far, but I don't like it. It's too busy looking and I prefer the traditional look better for the hardwood and for football. Do those of you that like this, do y'all also like Boise's non-traditional looking field? Just Wondering.

The pic I saw on their website (while not a great angle and not finished) made it look much lighter. Looked pretty normal, actually, and better than some other courts out there.

I do like Boise State's field.

I like "character" in facilities. I like looking at ESPN at a glance and knowing where it is that I am seeing.

And I think it is a cool part of athletics when the facilities take on the "personality" of the communities in which they are located.

It is the logo for the new "Matthew Knight Arena". Named for Phil Knight's (Nike guy and major donor) son who died in a SCUBA accident.

I don't think the new arena will be ready until January. http://www.matthewknightarena.com says 65 days until the grand opening.

I like it!
Oregon has always let their designers do whatever they like. I'm not crazy about some of the football uniforms they've had, but I do like the creative effort they have put out.

I don't like it.

I REALLY don't like Boise's field either. It's like wearing a clown suit to a job interview.

Sure it will get you noticed, but it won't get you respected.

I also think that the Smurf turf is a competitive advantage in that the home team blends into the turf. When you are talking decisions which are made in a split second, that fraction of a second extra it takes to pick up a defender in your periphery may the difference between a sack for a loss and a pass for a gain.

There's a reason why they are 72-1 on the smurf turf and it ain't all about the quality of play up there.

Also has a lot to do with the opponent. Going back a few years, their only loss was to Boston College in the 2005 Season's Bowl game in Boise.
