Hilltopper Hysteria is tonight!

I can't wait to see the slam dunk contest. Will Sergio Kerusch come back after winning two years ago but falling short last year, will OU transfer Juan Patillo defend his title from last year, or will Brandon Peters top them both?

We're also hoping for a couple more very nice commitments in the next 24 hours.

Good times in BGKY.

Best dunker I have ever seen in the Belt is Dewayne Mitchell.

We'll be much deeper off the bench-- that is for sure.

We need to prove it in the OOC schedule. I think we had one of our worst conference rankings ever last year. I don't care who wins the Confernce champoinship after FIU, I do care about everybodies OOC games.

Go Sun Belt!

We did. They gave us a trophy and everything.

you must have missed the games when the cajuns played the toppahs then.

in two words, very slowly so even you can understand....elgrace wilborn.

i'll give major props as the cajuns have always had some real high flyers and i woulda loved to see mitchell tear down rims for us.

i guess it kinda sucks that jesse ain't still around having cars registered in his name belonging to the hoopsters.

jesse 'not so clean' evans.....lol. he could bring 'em in.

jesse 'we just love jebus' evans. i miss him.....he was the bad guy rassler that every conference needs.

I agree. Enough of this "we have to win the conference". Only one team will ever do that in a year.

We have to beat the other guys. Thats how you get two to three teams in every year.

Quote: That means we need to see more OOC wins, people!. If we beat up on each other no one will be impressed unless some of our teams score upsets outside the league. USA did their part with road wins over Arkansas and Florida last year but then injuries derailed us and we couldn't make hay in the conference. If several teams can get just one or two wins like that then the SBC profile as a whole will go way up.

I think quantity is more important that quality. I would be happy if we just took care of the lower rated conferences.

As an athlete during the Jessie era I can tell you for a fact that no athlete had vehicles registered to Jessie and driving them around.

Jessie had one violation during his tenure as a coach at UL and that was a compliance officers fault. ASU can attest to that, since they ran into the same problems with the same compliance officer.

Jessie did not care about academics or discipline, that was his downfall at UL.

Bob Marlin will have the Cajuns back at the top of the Belt sooner than most people think.

Very cool to see some other Sunbelt schools having a midnight madness! I know for a long while there were no other "first day of practice events" in the Sunbelt.

FAU's event is a little unconventional though. I wondered how you all could have an event on Thursday when the NCAA does not allow practice to start until Friday. But this really wasn't a practice / scrimmage. It was more of a pep rally / party. Which is still cool.

You guys had a great student turnout and I agree, that bodes well for the attendance for you guys this year.

I think you'll find that having an event like this is great for recruiting.
