Good move, will they bring a good number of fans to Jonesboro?

The last time we played them was 1997. It still stands as the second largest crowd ever at ASU stadium.

Then it is a good move! If we are going to play FCS programs, if needs to be programs that can bring a good crowd and help make a little money.04-rock

I think the Cajuns plays Nicholls State next year to open the season. Not sure that is true, just what i heard. Do you think Nicholls will bring a lot of fans? One good thing, I believe us and ASU will have one extra win next year...

I would not expect much fan support to travel from Nicholls State. Hope I am wrong. But if this year's team is any indication of next years, I wouldn't travel either! 03-lmfao

You are correct, we do play Nicholl State next season. They do not travel well, but we are trying to rotate state schools on the schedule. I was told we are trying to get Southern back on the schedule for 2012 or 2013. The problem with Southern and McNeese, now that both have shown they can bring in good crowds, it will cost us more to get them to come to Lafayette.

But if Southern or McNeese sell more tickets than NW State or SELA it's worth paying some amount extra.

I agree, and they are working on it. But the game has changed now that BCS programs are scheduling more FCS programs. The price is going to go up for all of us in the SBC.

Best thing that could happen is for a BCS pile-up and someone from an AQ league missing the title game because they played an FCS while the teams making it didn't. That would make it harder for AD's to claim to be competing for the title when they add an FCS.
