Great first quarter for Troy except for the 44 yards of penalties. Defense is indeed in the house.

Wow!That was ugly for Hampton, clearly a broken leg. Sad week, Cajuns lose RB Kevis Streeter career ending injury ACL/MCL. Had no circulation in the leg after the game, almost had to have surgery in Denton.

We will never beat Troy unless we get better up front on both sides of the ball. This is crap.

I think the defense is doing fairly well, considering the short fields Troy has scored 2 TD's on.

The offense runs the same 3 damn plays over and over and over again.

1. Draw/read run.
2. Pass into the flats, no deeper than 4 yards.
3. WR Bubble screen.

Interesting halftime stat.
MT total offense - 81yds
Troy penalties - 77yds

We really gave on away on that last drive.

The reason we are running those three plays is because we have no push up front. Troy is in our offensive backfield within the blink of an eye on each play.

Don't disagree with you one bit. The OL is ineffective, at best. Even when we want to dropback and throw, DD has to run for his life and poor Murphy just gets killed.

RE: Troy vs MTSU Game Thread
Those screens and short passes into the flats will spread out the defense (unless they're content with giving away 4 yds a pass). Once they're spread out, it'll open up the middle for draws, and passes. It'll also open things up deep if they start cheating in.

There's a reason that every team that runs this offense does the same thing.

I hope you're right. I just fear that it might be Thursday before this strategy loosens up the Troy defense.

Instead of playing footsie, how about we just attack the Troy D that's been shredded in every game they've played this year?

Man I hear you. I've watched every play of every Troy game at least twice, and this is NOT the same defense we've had all year. They are playing much better, except for the stupid penalties which are omnipresent.
