The easiest way to take Dasher out of his game.

RE: Lack of Palladium Talk
Honestly, I have no idea what to expect about the game.

Troy has a bunch of new players we don't know as much about (thank God you guys threw Woods and Lee off campus after 17 years), and, in previous games, have looked less than thier usual juggernaut-selves. Yet, I think even Troy fans would admit that the Trojans always seem to rise up and play thier best game of the year vs MT.

I have no clue what to expect from Dasher. None. He's streaky even when he's been practicing and playing full time, so anyone who thinks they know what we're going to get from DD is throwing darts blindfolded. The MT defense got run over by Minnesota, played well but stabbed in the back by the MT offense against Memphis, and played great vs. ULL, so I think we're trending OK there.

Someone is going to win this game 30-20 or so, just don't know who.

RE: Lack of Palladium Talk
Honestly, I see it as a high scoring affair. Both teams will reach the mid 30's. We will do well defensively until we get tired...then the flood gates will open. Haven't faced a defense yet that has slowed down our offense, and, not to offend, but do not see it happening this week. Dasher is due against us, but hasn't played this year...will he be rusty his first start. Probably will at least a few times. Middle has a good chance if they can keep him from trying to do too much and progress into playing form naturally.

RE: Lack of Palladium Talk
I've called this game the "Somethings gotta give" game since it was announced as our black out.

Blakeney 4-0 against Stockstill

Raider 2-0 in the black unis

I'm not talking about this game too much, because I just can't handle talking it up again only to get our doors blown off. I'm not saying I think we're going to get blown out again but it wouldn't shock me. We may win this game, but I'm going to stay pretty quiet about this game, I just want it to get here. I'm headed to Murfreesboro Sunday evening after attending the Braves regular season finale, I'm strongly considering not taking my laptop with me just so I can avoid all the talk on here. Any of my Trojan buddies that are planning on attending, don't hesitate to pm me.

Dasher's back, but has anything changed? The team thinks they're more apt to win...but what about the fans?

I think we're more apt to win with Dasher than with a gimpy Kilgore. Kilgore's got a bright future, but he's just not healthy or ready right now.

If we get the Dasher that we got in the New Orleans Bowl and some of his other big performances, Troy's in trouble. If not, I have a hard time seeing MT win this one.

RE: Lack of Palladium Talk
I think the theme here is that both teams have a lot of unknowns and I couldn't agree more. Our defense has been decimated with injuries and we didn't have much depth to begin with. Who knows what to expect from Dasher in his first game back.
We will be getting Addison, starting DE, back this week from his broken hand which will be a big help in containing Dasher. We actually started a true freshman at corner last week. He's the one that got burned for ASU's last touchdown, but played quite well against the run.
I expect that the young guys will get better with each game, but it's tough to have a lot of confidence in them as a unit right now.
I have plenty of confidence in our offense and believe that we can score enough to win, but we shall see.

This is the most polite Troy-MUTS conversation I have ever heard - especially two days before the game. Where's the passion at?

I think it's because of the great unknown....Dashers first game back. Couple that with Troy's ability to give away games in the fourth and you have a quiet board. I won't be comfortable with any size lead in the 4th. I'd almost rather be behind and have to depend on the offense to win it.

Neither team's fans are confident enough to do any yapping.
