The Atlanta Braves. Choking?
So, as of this moment we have a 1/2 game lead over the Giants and a 3 game lead over the Rockies in the wild card standings.

We are six back from Philly for the NL east after getting destroyed by them this last series.

Remaining series:

Braves: @Nationals, Marlins, Phillies

Phillies: Mets, @Nationals, @Braves

Giants: A game today @Cubs, @Rockies, Arizona, Padres

Rockies: A game today @Arizona, Giants, Dodgers, @Cardinals

So, I guess the question is...are we going to hang on and make the playoffs?

Or, are we going to choke?

Choking? or simply running out of gas?

Rockies always seem to surge late in the season. It's gunna' be a tight one.

Well, yeah, either will work. I guess it just depends on how you look at it.

RE: The Atlanta Braves. Choking?
Not sure I'd call it a choke. They swept the Mets last weekend. But the Phillies have won 10 straight. And 14 of the last 15, with the loss being 4-3 to the Mets. They're 18-3 in September. That is just unreal balling. Braves were 9-9 in September coming into the Phillies series. It is just hard to keep up with that. Everyone knew when the Phillies got their guys off the DL, they'd be a force. They hung around all season, never getting too far behing. Winning is contagious. So is losing. The Braves have the best home record in baseball, but have stunk it up on the road. (sound like a certain football team we're both fans of?)

I still think they'll make the WC, but unless they can steal a win on the road, it will be one series and done.

I vote choke job.

But then I was never much of a fan of any team from ATL.

I've always liked the Braves. They were on TBS all of the time when I was a kid, so they became my favorite team. Don't get to see them too often anymore, so I don't follow them very closely. Still root for them though. Hope they pull it out!

They're gonna choke... they're 7-8 against the Nats this year and 8-7 against the fish, and the Phils don't lose anymore. All the while the Rockies always play incredible late in the season and the Giants starting pitching is too damn good. I'm not a Braves fan but since the Bosox aren't gonna make the playoffs, I'm gonna go to final 3 game series against the Phils and root em on with some buddies. If nothing else I get to see the farewell to Bobby.
