Here we go again. Let's blackball UALR for not having Football. We get it from both ends. We get it from Fayetteville: how dare you speak of such apostasy as adding football! And from our SBC brethren: How dare you stay in our league without it! We can't please anyone in our current situation.

If UALR had football they could play their home games at War Memorial Stadium.

Yeah, they'd already have a stadium to play in. I think it would be cool if they got a team.

I really hope we do!

While the SLC offers a lower caliber of basketball and baseball the savings available in the SLC would be significant and revenue could be redirected to competitive investments rather than travel. Being 35 miles from UCA would make for a great rivalry and would likely be viewed very favorably by league members who could pair travel with a single flight. The ASU series would almost assuredly continue except in December. It might well be a scenario that could let the program grow toward the hoped for Valley goal.

Or the OVC. Average travel distance for UALR to Southland schools would be 359 miles while OVC is 398. Not to mention its a little better basketball conference.
