Denver making a pitch to the WAC
Denver and Seattle are both trying to move into the WAC as non-football schools.

Best wishes to Denver as it looks for a new conference home; that would be a good geographic fit for Denver.

Theyve been a good Confrence member for sure, just a horrible geographic fit for the 'Belt.

Hope they get in.

but they are the face of hockey and lacrosse for the belt (even though the belt does not carry those sports). Denver & Puck Swami, you'll be missed!04-cheers

And the three-time defending national champion Ski team. Pretty impressive.

But for Denver it would be a great match yes?

They dont have Football and the travel would be signifcantly less for them except when they have to Hawaii and LA Tech.

It'd be good for Denver, as well as Seattle who looks likely to join them.

The other school that has been strongly rumored to have presented is Lamar. I think that's long term thinking...Lamar can't possibly be ready to move up to FBS, but maybe so.

Gotta speculate on this for a second... 05-stirthepot

WAC East
ULL
North Texas
Louisiana Tech
Texas State
UTSA
Lamar

WAC West
NMSU
Utah St.
Hawaii
Idaho
SJSU
Montana

Non-football - Denver, Seattle, Utah Valley, Southern Utah

03-drunk I'm ready for it...just speculating. 03-wink

I just threw up in my mouth. No f-ing way that UNT would join the WAC. We turned the WAC down WITH Boise... We turned them down with Fresno and Nevada. No way that we accept an invite to be in a conference with UTSA and Lamar, that is preposterous. Texas State is not prepared to make a move up - they had 12K show up for their game at home last week against Cal Poly. They just do not have the support. Those attendance numbers would not increase with Idaho, NMSU, San Jose, and USU coming to town - those schools and Cal Poly are pretty much interchangeable names in these parts. They just do not have the support for FBS ball yet - but I think that they can get there. UTSA has yet to play a single snap of football.

Why would Louisiana and North Texas want to leave a conference that is much stronger to align with this leftover patchwork? The WAC has been raided twice over the last ten years due to poor expansion plans and poor management. Granted WW may not be great, but it is definitely better than that scenario.
