UAB sucks.

Congrats FAU! We need all of the OOC wins we can get and especially against CUSA, MAC, and WAC since that is who we are competing against in the conference pecking order.

Yep, we needed this win against CUSA, albeit UAB. Looks like CUSA took it on the chin tonight. Ohio State hammered Marshall, USCjr pounded USM and Tulane was barely up, by 6 in the 4th against FCS SE La. :gasp:

C-USA=Overrated.

Nice to get the win but the first 2 point conversion nearly bit the Owls on the butt. Kick it and then kick the last one and UAB is kicking for a tie rather than the win.

Florida Atlantic University senior quarterback Jeff Van Camp was just interviewed following his team's 32-31- thrilling victory over UAB at Legion Field. Van Camp said the FAU Owls planned "revenge" and were not going to lose against UAB, following last year's embarrassing loss in Birmingham.

"The seniors really clamped down," he said. "We wanted it to be a special year."

Van Camp said receiver Lester Jean, who brought the Owls back from a 14-point deficit with two electrifying touchdown catches, is his go-to guy.

"We have a lot of chemistry," Vann Camp said. The UAB defense was covering jean one-on-one, so "when he is singled up like that, he is going to get the ball. We have a lot of chemistry and he has great hands."

Van Camp said the offensive line is young and inexperienced and suffered during the first part of the game as the UAB quarterback run all over the Owls. "They had a little bit of nerves early on, but they settled down. We said, 'Don't worry about it. It’s just football ... having fun. They settled down and won the game for us."

Alfred Morris showed amazing ability, running for 103 yards - capped by a game-winning 38-yard twisting and bulldozing scamper for a score. "I've never seen anybody run like that before," Van Camp said. "That was a great play. Alfred is a great running back and it showed why he is the best in the Sun Belt."

On FAU's first win and great start, Van Camp said, "We knew last year was a really down point in our season. We saw it (tonight) as a revenge game ... and we got it."

Van Camp said he worked last spring and this summer to become "more of a leader."

"This year there is definitely a different role for me," he said. "I have to be that play maker guy."

WTG FAU! Sounded like an excited game. I wish I could have gotten this on the tube.

How did UA's B team attendance look?

Thanks for all the congratulations!

The team never gave up and that is a WELCOME show of heart from them.

They also did NOT tire out in the 4th which is a HUGE difference in them that we can directly attribute to our new Strength and Conditioning coach Rod Payne.

Owl fans are VERY happy.

Congrat's on the comeback win. Way to hang in there.

Btw, saw a lot of the MTSU game last night and they would have definately beat Minn. if Dasher had played. Oh well.
