Soooo .... are you implying that you have better talent than WKU?

No one is implying that. Bball is one area where we've tasted humble pie in that sport for years now.

LOL, I was going to let it slide.
Still, its not a bad recruiting class. It would probably be top 4 in the Belt. Maybe top 3.

You'll find the competition in Sunbelt basketball is pretty stiff. WKU got the #5 Juco the year before that. UNT, FIU, and WKU are landing top 150 freshman left and right. Sunbelt basketball is doing very well at the moment.
Back to Georgia St though, that does look like a nice recruiting class. Why are three of the guys showing not signed on Rivals? An oversight?
Do you have any pictures of your basketball facilities you could link to?
I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but GSU plays in the CAA, a conference that had an RPI of 11 in basketball, as opposed to Sun Belt, which had an RPI of 21. That's a pretty big gap. WKU is obviously the top dog in Sun Belt most years, but you have to understand that GSU has to go up against the likes of George Mason (Final 4 run a few years ago), VCU (knocked off Duke in NCAA tourney a few years back), ODU (beat Notre Dame just this year in the NCAA tournament), Northeastern, etc., in the CAA every year.
We just started expanding our basketball facility. The plan is to knocked down the walls behind the goals, which has already been done, and then add seats gradually in phases until the whole arena is bowled off -- a process that should be done in the next 3-5 years. We just shelled out $18 million for a brand new football practice complex, so we have to pace ourselves.

I am well aware of the CAA and thier successes, but was not aware that GSU was in there.
Bit suprised by the arena there, very small, looks kind of like my high school gym.
Does GSU have any plans for a new one?

No, just expanding this one. Should seat 8,000 once it's done.

And I would assume that this would include some renovations / upgrades? Luxary suites? New scoreboards / video boards?

One step at a time. First step is to convert some of these football season ticket holders to basketball season ticket holders.

For those who don't know or don't remember, yes we have a history with the Sun Belt Conference. We were one of the founding fathers:
"The Sun Belt Conference was founded on August 4, 1976 with New Orleans, South Alabama, Georgia State, Jacksonville, UNC Charlotte and South Florida. Over the next ten years the conference would add Western Kentucky, Old Dominion, UAB, and Virginia Commonwealth."

Which means they used to be in the Belt. Another poster asked if they were and this is the answer.

Exactly. Thanks statefanatic.
