Just 3 D1 home Nonconference games. Potentiall games @ 3 SEC schools and another @ Memphis
we got hit hard when Central Arkansas declined to play us in a 4 game series. Would have been a huge boost to attendance for both schools. Left us scrambling to find Savannah State
and yet again we have another lengthy conference road trip... we always get those

Do you know why CA didn't want to play you?

Well these are the 'guaranteed' out of conference games for ASU and the Sagarin ranking from last year to the left. Even though these are last years rankings, there are not a lot of in between teams it seems. Either the team is good or terrible! These terrible teams will definitely pull down your RPI as the average Sagarin ranking from last year is 183, and that isn't counting Lyon College (NAIA) and Central Baptist (NCCAA).
46 Nov 12th @ Ole Miss
69 Nov 15th Missouri State
312 Nov 27th @ Southeast Missouri
59 Dec 1st @ Memphis
NR Dec 6th Lyon College
297 Dec 11th Alabama State
91 Dec 18th @ Georgia
301 Dec 20th Savannah State
69 Dec 22nd @ Missouri State
NR Dec 28th Central Baptist
283 Jan 17th Lamar
301 Feb 1st @ Savannah State

I think most SBC programs will have similar schedules if you are winning. No one wants to come to Lafayette and play a Marlin coached team in the Dome. We've talked to the SEC, Big 12, C-USA and none want to play us right now. At this point we have 28 games scheduled, 14 road and 14 home. If we can't find another home game, then we will stay with the 28 games this season.

RE: ASU relases MBB schedule
It is tough CajunT. I know USA's schedule will have some poor teams on it as well when finally released. But we always seem to have a few good teams on the schedule. It takes hard work, but some good schools are willing to play a good team from a 'mid-major' conference, they just don't want to travel to do it. But the past few years we have played a few ranked teams and even beat some. Last year we beat #18 Florida @ Florida and beat Arkansas @ Arkansas. In the past few years we have also played Louisville, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. So some teams will play you, just most won't travel to do so.

I don't disagree with your statement, but we all need to have balanced schedules and we all know that our schedule strength will suffer in trying to accomplish that goal.
