LOL! It is not THAT bad! I just typed his named into a Fb search and he appeared quickly due to his rather unusual name and because we had two mutual friends.

RE: 2011 FB Verbals Thread
I'm adding this one based on this post:

"I heard Tyrone Taylor CB from Cerritos just signed with EMU also as the KR and CB."

I'll do some searching...

EDIT: Was a late qualifier out of h.s. Had interest from a lot of big name schools mostly Pac-10 and other western schools like Boise.

As a qualifier out of h.s. he could sign at mid-year and do spring ball.

http://jcfootball.scout.com/a.z?s=87&p=8...id=4849171

*****
Sounds like the DB is getting filled quickly:

Pollard, (Marcus) Penn, Strange, Pali, (Malcom) Thomas, Taylor, etc. with a number of DBs scheduled to visit.

There is going to be a LOT of DBs and LBs in spring ball with experience as JUCOs, redshirt sitouts, transfer sitouts, etc.

RE: 2011 FB Verbals Thread
here are the new kids as of 12/28:

Let's see if I have this list pretty much up to date:

1). Watson,

2). Parker, Garrett

3) Penn, Marcus

4) Marrow

5). Pollard

6) Thomas (Kinsman's younger brother, if eligible)

7) Iannotti

8) Strange

9). Poole

10). Kurtz

11). Pali, Bryan (latest, a S from a SoCal JUCO)

12). Cody Kater (trans. from Cincy Bearcats)

13). Taylor (CB, KR Cali JUCO)

I count 13 newcomers (not counting the frosh who were redshirting).

If all works well, 2/3s of these will be on campus for spring semester and can do spring ball (obvious exception the h.s. kids + Thomas). :)

Thanks for compiling the list Steve. Sounds like this years class will be an extension of last years class. Still need a few offensive weapons like a WR and a RB. Need a few playmakers.

Agree Nickel - need some game changers and how about a kicker???? Place kickers and kick off men didn't really do a good job last season. The opposition always seemed to have good field position and we kickedbvery few FG's

BTW, I don't know if they are walk-ons or whatever, but we have 2 kickers who did not play in '10 (someone reminded me of them).

One position which needs game changer is KR + PR.

If I remember correctly Downard was in there to fair catch the punts.

Guess I need to delete Cody Kater from the list above. Don't count your transfers before they enroll... :(

Wonder if Marcus Penn and Malcom Thomas are questionable as well.

Blake Poole
Inside linebacker
Santa Ana, California
Santa Ana C.C.

* Ht:6'3"
* Wt:230 lbs
* 40:4.6 secs
* Class:2011 (Junior College)

And just like that...
There's the 6'3 linebacker we were looking for, LoL.
Who knows if either of these guys can play (I certainly am hoping they can), but I'm just glad to see that they're not landing the 6'1 190lbs linebackers

Unfortunately, I'm back to work today (after being off for almost a week with a bunch of 'use or lose' leave so I won't be Googling all day).

It would be a good Google project.

If Blake is the same competetive athlete as he was in high school he will be a great addition to the EMU team. Very impressive in HS. And he is currently practicing with the team.

RE: 2011 FB Verbals Thread
Scout.com has indicated that Justin Cudworth, an OLB, from a SoCal JUCO has signed his LOI.

I believe he makes 5 JUCO defenders who signed and should be hitting the books at Halle Library.

Scout.com now has all 5: Poole, Kurtz, Taylor, Pali and Cudworth. (3 LBs and 2 DBs)

For both teams, it will be the final opportunity for the sophomore players to don their team’s uniforms and leave their last stamp on their legacies. For COC, that means the final game for 1st Team All Conference selection Justin Cudworth, the teams defensive captain and emotional leader. While his loss will be immeasurable, Tujague said Cudworth’s impact would be felt for years to come.

“Justin Cudworth is a stud. As a human being, and as a person. He’s left a legacy for the defense to follow. The thing I love about football here at College of the Canyons is you have a number. And you fight for that number, that team. And you can’t hide from it. Everyone see’s your number. And that’s the one thing Cudworth has taught everyone here, is to be accountable and represent your program well.”

RE: 2011 FB Verbals Thread
We've got about 9 reported verbals so far and most of them are from Cali JUCO's or Ill high schools. I'm all for getting the best possible players but I hope the we get a few HS kids from MI.
