RE: 2011 FB Verbal
Thanks Wooden, hopefully the first of many. We need TEs as we have two senior TEs.

Southfield-Lathrup (Mich.) cornerback Cameron Boyd had a nice summer and ended it by being verbally offered a scholarship.

Southfield Lathrup's 5'9, 165-lb cornerback Cameron Boyd is a quick footed cover man who did well at all the events he attended this summer.
At one of the final ones before fall practice started, he did well enough to be verbally offered a scholarship.

"Basically at a 7 on 7, I got a verbal offer from Eastern Michigan," Boyd said. "Coach English said I was really doing good. After they see some film on me, and I do what I did at 7 on 7 on game days, I'll get an offer."

Boyd's brother Matthew is a linebacker at EMU, so he has a familiarity with the school.

"Coach English and the staff, Coach Snow, Coach Morrison, they're great man. I talk to them a lot because my brother plays up there. We e-mail all the time."

Of course, there are other schools paying attention to what he will do this season as well.

On a side note...
The High School this young man played at was an ABSOLUTE POWER HOUSE in basketball when I was in High School in Illinois. I believe they won four consecutive state championships in the mid to late 90's. They had a solid athletic program all around!

man, this kid looks lean for his size.

Doesn't look at all like a possible OL playing TE.

If this kid grows into an OL (I doubt he wants to) but he could be 275 but have a LBs body.
