Not my favorite era. During his time the DH was introduced, the Yankees payroll sky-rocketed leaving a league of have's and have-not's, steroids ran rampant while the owners turned a blind eye and the appointed commissioner of the league is little more than a yes-man to the owners.

On the plus side, Florida got two teams and the Marlins won a couple of world series. So not all bad and the game rolls-on.

RIP George, no one can say that you didn't leave your mark.

Like or dislike the Yankees and like or dislike Steinbrenner, there aren't many fans out there that wouldn't have wanted him as the owner of their franchise.

He made the yankees a championship organization again (I'm gritting my teeth as I say that, I'm not a yankee fan).
