Quick Question (Football)
The WAC made a name for itself by taking advantage of the Thursday evening programing slot in football. My question is, would fans be willing to show up for a 9 am Saturday morning game if their favorite SBC school was playing (assuming there is no rule precluding such early games)? Given the fact we are in the South, we would definitely be done before it got too hot outside. Plus, we would have the television all to ourselves from 9 to 11 am. It's a thought...

Umm.. no. Plus we'd be competing against Gameday. Why not compete with them head to head for those Thursday night games? Or a few Friday games.

03-yawn yeah, something about tailgating at 7am with french toast and mimosas doesn't scream football to me.

A thought? For starters, we've been pretty well represented in the weeknight spots lately, beyond that, at 9am who's going to be watching? Maybe eastern based tailgaters...

We had problems with our 11am kickoff against Mississippi State last year. Thinking outside the box is always good, but it doesn't mean that the results are always good.

Something tells me that if you're starting at 7am for a 9am kickoff, you're not starting early enough. 7am is a fairly reasonable time to set-up for a noon kickoff.

Tuesday night games? Are you serious? So you want a team to face the situation of playing a Saturday and then another game the following Tuesday? No thanks.

So in your plan each SB school would play one Tuesday night each? You certainly couldn't play on a Tuesday night more than once without facing my scenario of a Saturday Tuesday game with quick turnaround.

Come to think of it, if the Tuesday night games were conference games then it wouldn't work anyway because that would be two teams each game. And how many games would air on Tuesday night? All of the league games? If so this would solve the Saturday issue, but then it alienates all the out of town fans unable to take off from work... I just don't see logistically speaking how this would work. Can you go into more detail perhaps?

So I make a point counter to a Trojan fan's idea and you give me this response... haha. Sorry for thinking of how his idea would work logistically. I thought this was a discussion board. My bad. 01-wingedeagle

Get used to waking up slightly early if youre gonna play football with the big boys

9am games are ridiculous though. and im not a fan of Tuesday games either... but I can deal with the occasional Tuesday game.

Id love to slide in on a Thursday or Friday night. though admittedly Friday Nights would be impossible because High school Football is so big around here
