Is Elon ready for the SoCon after their 57-7 drubbing at the hands of Furman? Was Elon's loss a symptom of their not being up to snuff, or was it a sign that Furman has come up with a super team this season. Or was it just a down year and continued re-building on last season's team?.

It is a big mistake to let Elon into the Southern Conference. I don't like it one damn bit. We don't need to replace VMI with another cellar dweller. That is all Elon will ever be. I was kinda hoping the So Co would try to court FAMU. Now THAT would be a competitive team for the Southern Conference.

Why doesn't Davidson rejoin? Makes perfect (and georgraphical) sense, not that Elon doesn't, but VMI is more of a threat than the "phoenix" will ever be. My 2 cents! GO CATS!!

Hey, let's add Gardner-Webb. They've already beaten ETSU and UTC so far this season. Actually, a very good friend of mine just graduated from GWU and said that THEY had turned down an apparent offer to join the SoCon. Any truth to that? GO CATS!!

With Danny "Move the headquarters-not me" Morrison, I wouldn't be surprised.

And pulled an Elon with their 56-Zip butt whipping by GSU.
Quit trying to fit more losers on your conference schedule.

i keep hearing everyone bash Elon on these boards. Im not a Elon fan, but let me give you something to think about. Elon has vision, which unlike my school (Appalachian State University) is lacking. Give Elon a few years, and i bet they will still be closer to going 1a than we will. Never count out a person, institution, or etc. that has vision. Vision=Success

Why don't they rejoin? Davidson has absolutely no interest in competing in the scholarship division.
Funny thing, the confernce once kicked them out because they wouldn't give scholarships in football...then admitted UNC-G and Chucktown who have absolutely NO football. Makes about as much sense as moving the headquarters to Danny's neighborhood. Which we did.
Look out, here comes UNC-Boiling Springs next.
