Stadium Improvements
After being selected to host the Sunbelt Conference Tournament in 2013,UL sets their sites on having the Stadium improvements completed
in time. Grandstands will be torn down and rebuilt with more seating,
a much larger press box, and Suites.
Girls softball is getting a whole new stadium , that project is underway,
so Baseball would follow. Also, LSU is set to visit Lafayette that year
which always means a sellout crowd.

Not to mention renovation and expansion of our football stadium in the next 2 years from 31,000 to 52,000. We remove the upper deck and bowl the stadium and build a press box and levels of suites the length of the field, plus coaches office and numerous other improvements.

Is your football stadium expansion approved and $$$ allocated or just in the talking stage ? Can you post what it will look like ?

Cajun Field improvements will not happen in the next 2 years. You're looking at maybe 5-10 years from now.

I was told 5 years or less, but with the way things are looking today in Louisiana, that just might be wishful thinking.

I was told by a few RCAF staffers that baseball was next and it was to be completed around 2012. Once baseball is completed, then work will begin on Cajun Field. Right now, I think it will be wishful thinking to think that Cajun Field will undergo this significant renovation within the next 2 years considering that no official renderings have been drawn up. I know what Scott Farmer wants to do to Cajun Field, but the entire project has not been designed and there appears to be no official timetable to get the project rolling until softball, track/soccer, and baseball are started or substantially completed.

I was told the intent would be to construct the stadium improvements in phases, starting with the grandstand. Closing the endzones would not be a priority at this time, but later.

RE: Stadium Improvements
For some reason I thought Riddle-Pace had more than 2,000. I've also heard talks about sometime in the future expanding the capacity at Riddle-Pace. 04-rock

Baseball would be built to expand in the future, but 4,500 to 5,300 would be the new capacity.

Football would eventually expand to 53,000 once the endzones were upgraded. First phase, with new press box, suites, weigth room and club would remain the same seating capacity.
