The USA "fans" at the Coors Classic this past basketball season blew my mind. Some lady wearing a USA shirt and a houndstooth scarf asked if my wife and I would be staying after the UAB-USA game to cheer on Bama. Our response was a polite "I don't think we will."
She was highly offended at this and said "Well why not? You are UAB fans aren't you? You should support The Capstone."
Our simple reply was "We're UAB Blazer fans and UAB alums, not Crimson Tide fans."
The lady looked like we had just shot her cat.
Thanks for lumping us all in there. Please realize that, for many of those fans, that was the first time they'd EVER been in the Mitch. That lady in particular, well, whatever. But in general, more people came to see UA (get waxed by K State) than to cheer for both USA and UA.

Do whatever you want. But you are not a true fan of your school if your loyalties lie with another school to which you have no connection.
You forgot to say "in my opinion."
I think it's perfectly reasonable for someone to like college football but attend a school that didn't offer it and end up picking a school to cheer for in that particular sport. Now that things have changed at USA, fans will have more choices to make but until USA and UA go head-to-head in something football related, it's not going to come to a head anytime soon.

I forgot to mention that I was sitting amongst USA season ticket holders, most wearing Bama gear all geeked up to see their Crimson Tide play.

That's wonderful news. Its good to know that non-USA graduates are willing to become season ticket holders, because I'm betting that's what most of the people in Alabama gear were, if they were even season ticket holders at all. Even if they did go to USA, I'm not all that worried about what they were wearing. They were at the game and bought season tickets, and that's what matters to me.

What side of the court? Behind the benches or facing?

Wouldn't it be a wise assumption that everything everyone posts here consists of his/her opinion?

RE: OT: Alabama's A-Day game
Ended up not going to the game. Well, not entirely true. We went inside and sat in the heat. Decided to try and move to a shady area. But with over 91k in the place, a pair of seats in the shade was hard to find. Dad was feeling sick, so we left and went to watch at a restaurant. But I can say one thing about Bama fans. We'd all be lucky to have half, or even a third, of what showed up for a spring game at one of our season games.

Also, saw a few other Trojans at the game. One guy walking up a ramp with a tshirt on. And the guy with him had a hat on.

Much respect to those TROY fans for wearin' their gear, but the biggest question of the day is: Did you? Or, perhaps since your dad wore bama gear, you did too?
