Should exercise your thoughts on how the social contract should work.

RE: Interesting vaccination article
I thought that you could not enroll your child in school without proof of proper vaccination.

RE: Interesting vaccination article
Quote:"Imagine, you start off on a normal day," Waters says, "and you're getting ready to drop your child off at their child care place, and you're greeted by a public health nurse who says your child has been exposed to measles, and we'd like you to go home and be there for the next three weeks while we monitor you for symptoms."

Parents of exposed children who believed in vaccination were incredulous and angry, she says: "They said, 'What do you mean, people don't get vaccinated? Why is this happening?'

After some thought, it seems the first question should be, "What the hell, does the vaccination work or doesn't it!?"

Mostly true, depends where you live.

http://www.healthpolicyguide.org/doc.asp?id=6467

Quote:No national immunization law exists; instead, each state enacts its own laws. As a result, states vary in their vaccination requirements for school entry. All 50 states have laws requiring vaccination against diphtheria, measles, rubella, and polio prior to attendance in K-12. Washington, DC and 49 of the 50 states require tetanus vaccination, 44 states and DC require pertussis vaccination, and 48 states and DC require mumps vaccination (9). In addition, 48 states have requirements for vaccination prior to Head Start enrollment. Only 32 states have requirements for immunization prior to college attendance

We all agree vaccinations are a good thing, right? RIGHT?
