Reports out of the athletic department is that UL will hire former Sam Houston St. HC Bob Marlin as the new basketball coach. Looks to be a very solid hire, although he does not have the Name that some Cajuns fans were looking for his resume is quite impressive. If he can recruit well in the next two years as we will have a huge turnover on our roster the next two seasons, you can expect exciting basketball to return to the Cajundome. Won't be long before the Cajuns are back the program to beat along with the goat humpers!

Marlin is a very, very good coach. Almost was the pick at USA two years ago. The Sun Belt just got tougher.

Apparently Marlin was an assistant coach at ULM in the 80's. It was his first job, hired by then head coach Mike Vining.

Marlin spoke about that during his press conference. Mentioned coming down to Lafayette to scout our teams when we played in the old Blackham Coliseum. Pretty sure his bio indicated he got his Master's while at then-Northeast.
Our fanbase is definitely stoked about this hire, and hopeful this is the return of Cajun basketball we had come to expect.

Don't take this hire by ULL lightly. Marlin is a damn fine coach and will get ULL to the top tier of the SBC. Book it.
