The men might be struggling, but the women's team has just been dominant this year and should be playing in the MAC Championship when all is said and done. If they keep this up, the might even be able to snag an at-large bid into the Dance.

And, for anyone who wants to catch the men's game today, it's on FS Ohio and ESPN360.com (if you are one of the few people that can get that).
go rockets. i love watching the women play. agree with the spirit of your post MACer. will contradict you on the "dominant" description. we are a good, hard playing team that really has fun out there and is capable of stretches of great basketball. we do not have physical or skill dominance, but can be a superior team since we all play hard, play good team defense, and have a bunch of players who lift their game up in crunchtime.
naama shafir is one of the most exciting players in women's college game. not an all-america at this point, but capable of taking over games. she had a game at oakland earlier this yr where she scored on about 10 straight trips down the floor. dropped like 22 in 6 minutes.
as far as an at large bid. we have 3 good wins, 2 key losses, 1 bad loss, and a bunch of wins. the ncaa committee, even more so on the women's side, goes by big wins. how many top 100 type teams you beat. for ut the only way we get an at large is if we roll through the mac. beat bg, go near perfect, and lose a close game in mac tourney. then, we'd need our good wins to hold up - dayton and new mexico to continue to have good years. and hopefully have one or two of the decent teams we've beat, i.e. cleve st, morehead st., to do really well in conference. our losses to indiana and n'western even out what we've done so far, in that we would be a bubble team right now. the loss at utep hurts.
regardless, with this team. and the roster cullop has set up for next few yrs. wait until you see the talent coming into the program in 10-11. her squad will be an ncaa contender for the foreseeable future. and i think she is the type of person who will honor her contract and stick around toledo for at least 3 more years.
