This story has a little bio of him. He also coached at WMU about 10 years ago.

Solid hire for CMU. Enos really made a name for himself as a recruiter while at MSU. He was the primary recruiter of the SE Michigan area for MSU and did really well there, puling in some monster recruits. I imagine that CMU's Detroit presence will increase with him as HC.

I think he will do well at SMU because he has bee put in a position to succeed at that program with the talent they currently have.

Unfortunately we no longer recruit SE Michigan. So he will have his pick of MAC level talent in this area.

The talent pool in Michigan is not as deep as it is in Ohio. Bo made a pretty good living in Ann Arbor on the guys he got to cross the state line. He would have never had as well of a career only using Michigan high school players.

Do not kid yourself, Toledo's success on the field over the years has been the result of a lot of SE Michigan players. Ask yourself how may MAC Championship's in recent years we would have won without the likes of Chester Taylor, Wasean Tait, Ryan Huzek, Carl Ford.... Just to name a few. The fact that we have not signed ONE player that last two years from SE Michigan tells me the new staff does not have many relationships built within the HSs in the area. That needs to change. The proximity of UT to the Detroit Metropolitan area is a very appealing factor for these potential recruits. Regarding BO and Michigan, I could care a less.

It certainly didn't hurt that Amstutz worked UMs camp every summer for years. Good chance to spot talent.

All the top Michigan talent is now locked up by: UM, MSU, Missouri, Northwestern,Ohio State,Oregon, Penn State, Iowa and Indiana.Notre Dame didn't sign anybody. CMU has a few recruits after the Top 20.Just not enough good players to go around this season. Rockets have a good class so far.UT did recruit players like Gardener(UM), Hill(MSU), Davis(Iowa), and Hankins(OSU).Let the Rockets get back to their winning ways and they'll start grabbing a couple of top state of Michigan recruits every year.

Believe me I am not complaining about the class put together this year. I just worry when we start grabbing a lot of players from various states that our far away from Toledo, these players don't stick around all four years for one reason or another. For every Stephen Williams, there seems to be a few players like Leroy Houston, Travis Cadet, etc. that don't stay with the program.

RE: CMU breaking news
As someone who actually lives in Michigan, I know the size of the talent pool. The MI population is not as large as Ohio's, therefore, not as many athletes. Every year Rivals only lists a top 25 for Mich, but a top 50 for Ohio. There are usually (on avg.) about 15-20 3 Star and above recruits in Mich. vs. 30 to 40 in Ohio.

Plus 12 of the 23 are from the state of Ohio and 15 of the 23 are from the 4 hour radius around Toledo.

RE: CMU breaking news
There are some good players in Michigan, but unless you get someone in the top 40 - it's not going to do you much good. I don't see the same level of talent after the blue chippers coming out of Michigan as there was just 10 years ago. I have a feeling the population shift out of the state over the past few years has had some impact. Families are moving South for better opportunities with the Detroit 3 suffering heavily for years and the residual impact that has had on a number of other businesses in the state.
