Ridings Blogging for Ping! Baseball
Release: 01/04/2010
by Western Kentucky
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU senior pitcher Matt Ridings has been chosen to write a season-long blog for Ping! Baseball. The right-hander’s first entry was posted Monday, and he will be continuing to post updates throughout the year.

Each year, Ping! Baseball selects various players and coaches from around the country to write blogs chronicling their seasons. The blogs are some of the most popular content on Ping! Baseball’s website.

Joining Ridings as Ping! Baseball bloggers this year are representatives from UALR, Cal State Bakersfield, Dallas Baptist, Eastern Illinois, Iowa, Long Island, Manhattan, Norfolk State, South Florida, UC Santa Barbara, UNC Wilmington and Xavier.

Ridings’ first entry, and all subsequent entries, can be found by visiting this link, or by clicking on the graphic on the right-hand side of the baseball page of wkusports.com.

Ridings is poised to finish his WKU career as the record-holder in multiple pitching categories. The Franklin, Tenn., native is three victories shy of tying the all-time WKU mark for pitching wins and will tie the WKU record for innings pitched by logging 83.0 in 2010. His 264 career strikeouts are tied for the most all-time at WKU.

He finished the 2009 season with an 8-2 record and a 4.84 ERA. He also fanned 93 in 102.1 innings pitched and has won at least seven games in each of his first three seasons on the Hill. His all-time career pitching record entering the 2010 season is 25-8.
