More National Exposure for Tribe Hoops
[Image: votes0104.jpg]
- The national exposure continued to roll in for the William and Mary men’s basketball team on Monday. The Green and Gold, off to its best start in more than 60 years, earned recognition from ESPN, CBS Sports, Fox Sports, the Sporting News and SportsIllustrated.com as well as moving up the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 and the CollegeHoops.net Power Top 50 and non-BCS Top 25.

ESPN.com
For the second time this season, national ESPN senior college basketball writer Andy Katz listed the Tribe among the team’s considered for national team of the week in his Weekly Watch following the College’s road wins over Maryland and Hofstra.

ESPN.com’s Joe Lunardi lists the Tribe in his latest Bracketology released on Monday. Lunardi seeds the Tribe No. 11 in the East Region and has the College projected to play No. 6 seed Minnesota out of the Big Ten in Jacksonville.

CBS Sports
CBS Sports’ Garry Parish ranked the Tribe No. 26 in his weekly Top 25 Plus One.

Fox Sports
Jeff Goodman of FoxSports.com named the Tribe the Mid-Major Team of the Week in his Weekly Wrap following the Tribe’s pair of road wins last week. In his weekly Top 25, Goodman listed the Tribe at No. 25 in the national rankings.

Sporting News
Mike DeCourcy of Sporting News continued to list the Tribe among his Conference Call Best of the Rest. DeCourcy ranked the top 10 teams in the country outside of the six BCS (ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-10 and SEC). After earning the No. 8 spot last week, W&M jumped to No. 5 this week, trailing only No. 1 Northern Iowa, No. 2 Temple, No. 3 New Mexico and No. 4 Rhode Island.

SportsIllustrated.com
Both Sports Illustrated writers Andy Glockner and Seth Davis recognized the Tribe in their latest columns on the Web site. Davis listed W&M first among his five sleeper stocks in his Annual Stock Report. Glockner projected the Green and Gold as a No. 8 seed in the West Region of his 2010 NCAA Tournament Bracket Watch released on Monday. His projection shows the Tribe facing the No. 9-seeded Pittsburgh Panthers of the Big East in Jacksonville.

CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25
The Tribe continued to ascent the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 rankings, moving into the top 10 on Monday. The College, who was ranked No. 11 last week, jumped three spots to No. 8 following its road wins at Maryland and Hofstra. The Tribe was also one of just three teams in the poll to receive a first-place vote. W&M received a single first-place vote, joining No. 1 Northern Iowa (23) and No. 2 Gonzaga (7) in earning first-place votes in the poll.

CollegeHoops.net
The Tribe continued to gain steam in both the CollegeHoops.net National Power Top 50 and non-BCS Top 25 rankings. In a remarkable jump from the preseason, W&M was ranked No. 30 in the Power Top 50 released for the eighth week on Sunday. Prior to the 2009-10 campaign, the Web site ranked the Tribe No. 244 in Division I. In the non-BCS Top 25, the Green and Gold again made headway, moving into the No. 7 spot.
