it had nothing to do with my love child....bobby rainey.

it was the fact there were no troy players on there. that alone makes them null and void. 05-mafia

lol, yeah, yeah.

Those guys deserve to be on there, they made plays. Though I would like to point out that Lance Dunbar had less than 15 yards at the half against Troy. 04-cheers

MT's d-line dominated Troy for a good first half. Fastest DL I had seen all year, save Florida.

Also, both were honorable mention. But still, a good accomplishment.

Just messin' with the Conference Champs . . . I would have liked to see Troy on that list as well. 04-cheers

It is interesting to note that Torrey Smith of Maryland and Rainey finished 6th & 7th nationally in all purpose yards per game but were passed over by McCluster of Ole Miss and Shipley of Texas who neither one finished in the top 40. 05-nono

He also had a whopping 5 carries in that first half, and one of those went for a TD, so it's not like he could have gotten any more yards on that run.

He only got 14 carries all game, and averaged more than 11 ypc in the 2nd half, too.

At best, partial credit to the Troy defense on that one. You have to give a lot of the credit to our offensive playcaller for containing Dunbar in that game.

dunbar had 40 yds total against ULM. 15 carries for 40 yards for 2.7 ypc. One game doesn't mean that much.

Actually Morris from FAU had more total yards rushing than Dunbar but his yards per carry average was less. The bottom line is it is tough to make these lists from a nonBCS program.

Yeah Morris did have more yards and passed Dubar on the last game vs FIU.

The YPC is much less because Alfred doesnt break out monster yardage runs. He just continuously pumps and gets 3-5 yards ever carry. His Yards after contact is just sick.

Dunbar is a VERY explosive back. He just gashed the FAU D to pieces with HUGE runs so much that I wanted to gouge my eyes out everythime I saw him line up since I knew our D had no answer at all.

Any time Dunbar touches the football, he's a threat to take it all the way.
